Welcome to my blog! By way of introduction, the first thing you should know about me is that Will Baxter is a pseudonym. As a missionary in a closed Asian country for the last decade I have chosen to protect my identity in order to allow continued access.
This blog is a conglomerate of all the thoughts bouncing around my brain. It mainly contains content focused on missiology, theology, culture, book reviews, and a few personal updates, but anything is liable to find its way to this site.
A bit about me… I have served the global church in a variety of roles and capacities. I have also spent a bit of time in the education realm, teaching primarily at the university level overseas. When asked what I do, the best answer is that I am a missionary with the IMB (International Mission Board). I have spent the past decade making disciples, planting churches, and strengthening churches in one of the spiritually darkest corners on earth. However, I also have a restless creative streak that often sends me on wild journeys – music making, entrepreneur extravaganzas, writing, and other crazy innovations. I hold a MDiv (International Church Planting) and a MA (Intercultural Studies) from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
I recently completed a non-fiction book, Concrete Discipleship, which lays out the disciple-making framework our team has used in Asia to make disciples and multiply churches.
